Settling In
It’s been over a month now and, all things considered, we are doing well. Like a newborn doesn’t learn to walk in a day, so a new business doesn’t soar before take-off. It has been an up and down time with many exceptional learning experiences. Things have calmed from the initial craziness and we are finding a more efficient, stable schedule.
Today, though a gloomy, wet, northwest day, has been a good day. It has been busy and the contrast of the outdoor gloominess accents the comfortable feeling the bakery was designed to emit. Who doesn’t love to enjoy a dreary day with a hot drink, hot soup, and a comforting pastry?
We have also had a good deal of cake and catering requests. Shawna has done an amazing job on the cakes — not only do they look amazing, but exuberant responses have assured they also taste amazing. We’ve also had mass cookie orders and pastry orders in the last couple days. People appear to enjoy our creations. That was even our intent!
Everyone should come witness the bakery if they haven’t yet. Come say hi and enjoy comfort foods and drinks. Or order a bunch of stuff … it’s all amazing.
